Frederick, Md. - Not a bad day at the office on Saturday afternoon for the Frederick Community College men's soccer team and volleyball squad. The men's soccer team scored a solid victory in Region XX Division 1 Tournament action over the Hawks from College of Southern Maryland by the score of 3-0. With the victory, FCC improves to 10-6 overall on the year. More importantly, the Cougars advance to the Final Four of the Region XX Tournament. FCC will return to the pitch on Wednesday (10/25) when they take on Harford Community College. The two teams met earlier this season in conference play with the Fighting Owls defeating the Cougars 2-0. The game is scheduled for 4:00 P.M. at CCBC Dundalk.
The Frederick Community College volleyball team is clicking on all cylinders at the right time of the season. The Cougars hit the road and took part in the Northern Invite, hosted by Community College of Rhode Island. FCC swept through the competition on Saturday going 4-0 on the day and now are winners of seven straight. FCC first year Head Coach Robert Landis and his team conclude the regular season with an overall record of 15-6. The Cougars will get some much deserved rest and await the announcement of the Region XX Division 2 Tourney postseason match-ups.
