Spring Athletic Events Protocols

The Region 20 Recovery Plan for the 2021 spring outdoor sports season was approved and adopted by member institutions. Region 20 members will abide by the following for the upcoming competition season:

  1. No spectators shall be permitted at Region 20 outdoor sporting events/contests for the spring 2021 season.

  2. Use of locker rooms shall be prohibited for all Region 20 contests. Teams will be required to conduct team meetings on the sidelines/benches with masks and social distancing, and come dressed and ready to play in the contest.

  3. Masks are required to be worn at all times by coaches, support staff, and gameday workers. Student-athletes must also wear masks on the sidelines when not actively participating in the competition.

  4. Pre-screening will be conducted for all coaches, support staff, game day workers, student-athletes, and umpires before any athletic event.

  5. Social distancing should be practiced as well as other everyday preventative actions to reduce the spread of COVID-19, including wearing masks, avoiding touching your face with unwashed hands, and frequently washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
