Frederick Community College Director of Athletics Larry Johnston is happy to announce the hiring of Kelly Demski as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Cougars. She is no stranger to the Athletics Department, having served in a part-time role for the past three years.
Demski joined the Frederick Community College staff in October of 2018 as a part-time Athletic Trainer. She most recently served as a full-time membership consultant at Onelife Fitness- North Frederick. In February of 2020, she was promoted to Assistant General Manager of the club.
Prior to her relocation to Maryland in 2014, she was employed by the IU Health system holding numerous roles in the organization. From 2008-2013, she was the Head Athletic Trainer at LaPorte High School in LaPorte, IN. There, she oversaw 27 sports, providing prevention, care, and treatment to over 400 athletes. She implemented the school's first head injury management program and held the role of Clinical Program Coordinator for the six athletic trainers within the IU Health LaPorte Hospital organization before moving into a clinical role in the Sports Medicine Physical Therapy office.
She was an Assistant Athletic Trainer and a Wellness Instructor at Culver Academies in Culver, IN from 2000-2008. There she was one of a team of athletic trainers overseeing 35 sports and over 50 teams of athletes. Her vast experiences with athletic teams and instruction work in the classroom help to shape her career.
Demski, a native of Uniontown, PA, earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training at California University of Pennsylvania before going on to receive a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Western Michigan University. She is BOC certified and holds a Maryland Athletic Training license.
She will begin her official full-time duties at FCC on October 11th.
