Baseball Lets Lead Slip Away In 10-9 Loss To Owls

LARGO, Md. – The No. 17 Frederick Community College baseball team held a 9-6 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th inning against Prince George's Community College. The Owls would plate four runs and defeat the Cougars by the score of 10-9. The Cougars are 27-10 on the season including 8-7 in the conference and have lost three straight. All three losses this week have been by one run. With the sweep over FCC, PGCC improves to 21-8 and 7-7 in MD JUCO play.

Jett Manning and Thomas Gonzalez each had two hits. Teammate Alex Aristy went 1-for-3 and his lone hit of the game came at a key point of the game. In the top of the 6th inning, Aristy came up with the bags packed and his single knocked in two runs to give FCC a three-run lead by the score of 9-6. PGCC would answer in the bottom half with four runs of their own. Logan Bruckschen is hit with the loss and is now 2-2 on the season.

The Cougars return the diamond on Tuesday afternoon for a doubleheader as they host Shenandoah University JV. First pitch is set for 2:00 P.M.
