FREDERICK, Md. – The No. 20 Frederick Community College baseball team defeated Shenandoah University JV by the score of 7-5. FCC starting pitcher Antonio Bianchini picked up the win on the hill and is now 2-1. He pitched five innings giving up 2 earned runs while striking out four batters. Logan Bruckschen relieved Bianchini and picked up his first save of the season.
The FCC offense pounded out nine hits in the victory led by Jett Manning, Alex Aristy, and Eric Dressler each with two hits. Manning had two doubles and knocked in a pair of runs. He also stole his 28th bag on the year. Manning is batting .426 on the season. Dressler also had a pair of doubles and continues to be an ironman behind the dish.
FCC will hit the road on Thursday afternoon when they return to the diamond for a key divisional match-up against Allegany College of Maryland. First pitch is set for 3:00 P.M.
With the victory, the Cougars improve to 29-10 on the year and 8-7 in MD JUCO play.
