FCC Baseball Concludes Season With 16-7 Loss To CCBC Essex In Region XX D2 Tournament

CATONSVILLE, Md. – The No. 20 FCC Cougars stayed alive after the big win over Garrett College Lakers in the Region XX D2 tourney on Sunday afternoon. FCC would have their work cut out for them as the Knights of CCBC Essex were undefeated in tourney play and the Cougars had one loss in the double elimination tourney. The Knights would capture the Region XX D2 tourney crown by defeating FCC by the score of 16-7 on Sunday afternoon. FCC ends their season with an overall record of 36-17 (20-6 MD JUCO).

The Cougar offense tallied just five hits in the loss. All of the hits went for extra bases. Logan Appel, Hayden Kissel, and Mark Minicozzi each went deep for FCC. Brandon Austin and Austin Kuntz each roped a double. Minicozzi led FCC with three RBIs.

FCC starting pitcher Chris Altopiedi was hit with the loss and finishes the year with a record of 0-3. He gave up seve runs (two earned) on five hits in 2.2 innings of work.
