Coach Bennett has led the Cougars to the Region XX Tournament 17 times, including 10 trips to the championship game and three trips to the NJCAA Division II World Series in 2007, 2010, and 2015.

The 2020 baseball season will be Coach Bennett’s 18th season at the helm. His overall record at FCC is 644-263. In 2016, Bennett reached a coaching milestone by achieving his 500th career win as a collegiate coach.

193 former players have moved on to four-year institutions under Bennett’s tutelage.

The 2011 team spent six weeks ranked No. 1 in the nation, the first FCC team in any sport to reach that milestone, while the 2010 team achieved a record for wins in a season and earned a trip to the NJCAA Division II World Series, Bennett’s second as Head Coach, having also reached the national tournament in 2007.

Coach Bennett has earned many coaching accolades, including the NJCAA Region XX Coach of the Year Award in 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2015.

Coach Bennett was named the American Baseball Coaches Association/Diamond Sports NJCAA Regional Coach of the Year in 2007, 2010, and 2015.

In 2007, Bennett earned the distinction of Maryland Association of Baseball Coaches Collegiate Coach of the Year

In 2010 and 2011, Coach Bennett was recognized as the MD JUCO Coach of the year.

Bennett also serves as Academic Advisor for Student-Athletes at Frederick Community College.
