COLUMBIA, Md. – The FCC men's basketball team never got its offense on track on Friday night at Howard Community College as the Cougars fell by the score of 89-73. Howard improves to 14-3 on the season and remains a perfect 6-0 in conference play as the Cougars fall to 11-5 overall.
The Cougars fell behind early 12-3, and were never able to recover. The Dragons would take a 48-29 lead after 20 minutes of play. Christian Matthews led the Dragons with 11 first half points, while CJ Williams paced the Cougars with eight points. FCC would connect on just eight-of-22 shots in the first frame.
FCC came out strong out of the locker room in the second half thanks to hot shooting by Christian Knox. He scored 17 second half points to help FCC cut the lead to 73-65 at the 8:33 mark in the second frame. The Dragons maintained a double-digit lead down the stretch to earn the victory.
FCC's CJ Williams and Juwan Burnett scored 14 and 13 points respectively in the loss. The Dragons forced the Cougars into 16 turnovers on the night. FCC struggled from the field connecting on 20 of 63 (31.7%) in the loss.

FCC (11-5, 3-2) will travel to Cecil College on 1/22 to take on the Seahawks. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 P.M.
