FREDERICK, Maryland – FCC freshman Christian Knox was on fire from the field as he tallied 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting to lead the Cougars to a 98-84 victory over Harford Community College on Wednesday night in MD JUCO conference play. With the win, the Cougars snap a five game skid and sport an overall record of 8-13 (4-3 MD JUCO). The Fighting Owls fall to 6-18 (2-8 MD JUCO) on the season.
Knox had plenty of help from his teammates in the win. The Cougars used a 16-2 run late in the first half to take a 42-34 lead into the locker room. In the second half, the Cougars didn't skip a beat and earned the 14 point win.
Southpaw CJ Williams continues to have a solid year for FCC. He chipped in with 18 point, including 10-of-12 from the charity stripe. Bajon Bihai was a force in the middle, registering a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Elijah White added 11 points and Domantas Sakickas pulled down 10 rebounds.
The Cougars sizzled the nets in the victory, connecting on 33-of-71 from the floor and an impressive 21-of-23 from the free throw line. FCC did a nice job protecting the ball as they committed just seven turnovers.
FCC will hit the road on Saturday, February 8th at 3:30 p.m. to battle Montgomery College in a crucial Region XX DII matchup.
