Davis earns first victory as FCC head coach

MYRTLE BEACH, Sc. – On Sunday afternoon, the FCC softball team hit the diamond to take on Anna Maria College (NCAA DIII). The Cougars would earn the victory 4-0 behind a strong pitching performance from Alexandra Hofflinger. The win is the first career victory for new head coach Chris Davis. Congrats Coach Davis.

Game One
Anna Maria 0

FCC's starting pitching Alexandra Hofflinger was in complete control from the start. She struck out 12 batters in the victory and gave up just two hits and only gave up one free pass. Hofflinger had plenty of help from her teammates in the win. Katlyn Davis smacked a pair of singles while Morgan Lohoefer chipped in with a triple. The Cougars tallied six hits in the victory.

Game Two
Schoolcraft College 15

The Cougars committed nine errors in the nightcap and lost to Schoolcraft College. Kaitlyn Naill and Lindsey Thomas had two hits apiece. Naill (4 IP, 5 ER, 2 BB) was hit with the loss on the mound and falls to 0-2 on the season. FCC sits at 1-5 overall on the season.

On Deck

FCC will conclude their spring trip on Monday when they return to the diamond for a DH. First up at 9:30 A.M., the Cougars will take on Grand Rapids CC and return to the field against Danville Area Community College for a 3:30 P.M. contest.
