Cougars Light Up Scoreboard In Victory Over Dragons

Columbia, Md. – Frederick Community College second year Head Coach Sheldon Henry is gearing up for the postseason. FCC hit the road to take on the Dragons from Howard Community College. The Cougars defeated the Dragons, 101-26. With the victory, FCC improves to 14-10 on the season, including 6-4 in MD JUCO conference action. FCC will return the hardwood next week when they take part in the MD JUCO tournament. Seeding of the tournament will be announced early next week.

FCC dominated from the tip and went to work early against the Dragons. FCC outscored HCC 37-4 in the first 10 minutes of action. The Cougars registered five players in double figures. Sophomores Dajah Gee and Aniss Grant poured in 22 points each. Jone Ayers scored 19 points while teammates Kiara Campozano and Morgan Cobb chipped in with 17 and 13 points, respectively. Credit Ayers on recording a double-double in the victory. She scored 19 points and recorded 11 steals on the night. Morgan Mitchell continues to quarterback the FCC offense as she hustled her way to a team-high 12 rebounds in the victory. 

The Cougars were clicking on all cylinders in tonight's victory. FCC hit on 34-of-83 (41%) from the field and a very impressive 20-of-25 (80%) from the charity stripe.

This is the second time the Cougars hit triple digits on the scoreboard. FCC scored 116 points vs. Lehigh Carbon Community College on 12/12/17.
