FREDERICK, Md. – The Frederick Community College women's basketball team hosted the Dragons from Howard Community College on Wednesday night in MD JUCO basketball action. The Cougars registered four players in double figures to defeat the Dragons, 78-44. With the victory, FCC improves their overall record at 2-2. The Dragons slip to 1-4 on the year.
Amiah Banks scored a team-high 23 points to lead FCC. She was 10-of-17 from the field. She filled up the stats sheet with six rebounds and four swipes. Point guard Augusta Kamara did a solid job running the FCC offense. She connected on 7-of-15 shots and finished with 17 points. Jone Ayers and Nia Powell chipped in with 14 and 12 points in the win. Powell continues to dominate on the glass, pulling down 15 boards to register the double-double. Ayers pulled down 9 boards, dished out six assists, and recorded seven steals.
The Cougars shot 33-of-79 (41.8%) from the field and forced the Dragons into 34 turnovers.
FCC will return to the hardwood on November 20th, as they play host to Allegany College of Maryland. Tip-off is set for 5:00 P.M.
