Powell & Robinson record double-doubles in the win!
FREDERICK, Md. – The FCC women's basketball team was clicking on all cylinders on Tuesday night as they defeated Allegany College of Maryland by the score of 91-36. FCC's Nia Powell earned Player of the Game as she posted a double-double with 20 points (10-of-16) and 18 rebounds. With the victory, FCC improves to 3-2 overall, including a record of 2-0 in conference play.
The Cougars jumped out to an early 30-7 lead after the first quarter of play. Six FCC players recorded double figures in the win as the Cougars sizzled the nets on 39-of-63 (61.9%) shooting from the field. The Cougars registered 23 assists and 12 steals as a team.
Jone Ayers and Amiah Banks each poured in 17 points. Darlene King chipped in with 12 points and point guard Augusta Kamara scored 11 points and handed out seven assists. Skylar Robinson came off the bench and recorded a double-double, scoring 10 points and pulling down 10 boards in the victory.
FCC will return to the court on 11/28 when they hit the road to take on College of Southern Maryland. Tip-off is set for 5:00 P.M.
