Washington, D.C. – After a two week layoff, the Frederick Community College women's basketball team returned to the hardwood on Thursday afternoon to take part in the Title IX Classic held at the DC Armory. Heading into the contest, the Cougars knew they would have a major test facing off against the NJCAA DI National Champions, Tallahassee Community College. The #3 Eagles defeated the Cougars by the score of 122-47. With the loss, FCC falls to 6-3 overall and Tallahassee Community College remains perfect at 16-0.
Nia Powell had a team-high 12 points for FCC. She pulled down seven rebounds in the loss. Jone Ayers scored 10 points and had a team-high eight rebounds for the Cougars. Tallahassee Community College connected on 49-of-101 (48.5%) shots in the victory.
Tallahassee CC registered three players with over twenty points. Juliunn Redmond led the way with a game-high 27 points. Daisha Bradford poured in 26 points and Jamyra McChristine scored 22 points in the win. FCC shot just 14-of-45 (31%) from the field.
FCC will return to the court on Friday afternoon to take on Motlow State Community College. Tip is set for 12:30 P.M. at the D.C. Armory.
