Banks nets 23 in win for FCC
FREDERICK, Maryland - The Frederick Community College women's basketball team got off to a strong start on Saturday night as they defeated Thomas Nelson Community College by the score of 79-27 in the Tipoff Tourney.
The trio of Augusta Kamara, Monet Wade, and Amiah Banks tallied a total of 58 points in the win. Banks had a game-high 23 points to lead the way. She connected on 10-of-17 field goals and pulled down a team-high 12 boards as well to record the double-double. Wade would also tally a double-double with 18 points and 10 boards.
The Cougars were hot from the field in the win connecting on 35-of 74 (47.3%) field goals. FCC would commit just 12 miscues and played stingy defense all night. FCC dished out 23 assists of thier 35 made field goals.
FCC will return to the hardwood in the championship game on Sunday afternoon as they take on Hagerstown CC. Tipoff is slated for 3:00 PM.
