Volleyball cruises past Lakers

McHenry, Maryland - The Frederick Community College women's volleyball team swept Garrett College on Friday night by the score of 3-0. The win extends the Cougars streak to four and they hold an overall record of 10-3 (9-2 MD JUCO) on the season. The Lakers drop to 1-12 on the year.

Rylind Abshire had a game-high seven kills for the Cougars. Teammate Elise Wilson turned in a solid performance in the win. She tallied five kills and three service aces.  Jacqueline Ryan recorded five kills. Along with Wilson, teammates Clarisse Diaz, Devyn Jacobson, and Maggie Tumy each registered three service aces. On the night, FCC totaled 13 service aces. The Cougars are currently ranked 17th in service aces per set in NJCAA Division II.

FCC will return to the court on Thursday (10/24) when they host Community College of Beaver County. FCC will celebrate Sophomore Recognition Day prior to the start of the match.
