Baseball Drops A Pair Of Close Games To CCBC Essex

Frederick, Md. -  The No. 13 FCC baseball team fell to the Knights of CCBC Essex on Sunday afternoon by the scores of 2-0 and 6-4.  The Cougars are 32-15 (11-9 MD JUCO, 8-4 Region XX D2) on the season.  FCC will host Hood College JV on Wednesday (4/27) afternoon with first pitch set for 4:30. 

Carson Bach (5-2) went the distance in game one and suffered a tough loss.  Bach struck out twelve batters and the two runs that scored were on a hit batsman and a walk.  Carson Bach now has 102 strikouts in 63 innings pitched. 

In game two, Doug Pearl got the start and was not factored into the decision.  Ryan Capstick would relieve Pearl late in the game and was hit with the loss.  Capstick is now 3-1 overall on the mound.  The Cougars fell behind 4-0 and tied the contest up heading to the top of the 7th.  The Knights would plate two runs in their last at bats to put them up for good 6-4.
