The Frederick Community College baseball team returned to the diamond on Saturday afternoon against Mercyhurst North East. The Cougars entered this weekend ranked No. 15 in the NJCAA Division II National Poll. FCC defeated the Saints 6-1 and 12-2 (5 innings) and improve to 5-1 overall, winners of five straight.
FCC GAME NOTES
- Doug Pearl (7 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 3 SO) and Kyle Raubenstine (5 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 7 SO) both tossed complete games for the Cougars. Each improves to 2-0 on the season.
- Jett Manning (5-for-6, 2B, 3B, 2 BB, 5 RBIs) and Nick Fuhrmann (5-for-6, 2B) tallied five hits on the day
- Alex Aristy went 3-for-6 (3B) on the day extending his hitting streak to five games. Aristy has 10 RBIs on the season.
- 1B Thomas Gonzalez got the start in Game 2 and knocked in three with a triple
- C Eric Dressler started Game 2 behind the dish and went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.
- CJ Mackinson has now hit safely in five straight games
- Manning is batting .526 on the young season with 10 hits, 4 steals, and has hit safely in six straight games.
- 12 runs and 12 hits both offensive team-highs this season
ON DECK
These two same teams will play on Sunday (2/19) in a doubleheader to conclude the friendly four game series. First pitch is set for 12:00 PM at Frederick Community College.
