Manning's four-hit game propels FCC to 14-4 win
CUMBERLAND, Md. – Jett Manning has been on quite a tear as of late. The sweet-swinging switch- hitter turned in quite a performance at the plate on Wednesday helping the Cougars defeat Allegany College of Maryland by the score of 14-4. With the victory FCC is 30-10 on the year and more importantly the Cougars sit at 7-1 in Region XX D2 standings.
FCC's offense showed up ready to swing the lumber! The Cougars smacked 14 hits led by Jett Manning who finished the contest with four hits in five trips to the plate. He also knocked in a game-high five RBI. Teammates Eric Dressler, Alex Aristy, and Brayden Lackey turned in some quality at-bats as well. Dressler had three hits while Aristy and Lackey each had two knocks. The Cougars smacked a total of five doubles on the day.
Colby Rudis spotted Allegany three runs in the first inning, but bounced back to pick up the victory. Rudis pitched a complete game scattering eight hits while punching out six batters to improve to 6-1 on the year.
The Cougars will be back on the road tomorrow (4/27) as they travel to Garrett College for a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 2:00 P.M.
