Cougars remain perfect with road win over Cardinals
Alanis comes up big in the victory for FCC
CATONSVILLE, Maryland – The Frederick Community College men's soccer team traveled to CCBC Catonsville on Tuesday night to battle the Cardinals. FCC registered four goals in the second half to defeat the Cardinals by the score of 4-2. With the win, FCC sits at 5-0 (4-0 MD JUCO) on the year.
A tough game on the pitch as both teams battled all night. FCC's Luis Alanis broke the scoreless tie with the game's first goal in the 49th minute. Ahmed Elmatoui would find the back of the net and increase the lead to 2-0 in the 55th minute. It was Alanis again just two minutes later to put the Cougars up 3-0 and it seemed as if the lead would be safe.
The Cardinals would respond with two goals of their own to cut the deficit to just one with 18 minutes left in the contest.
Vagner Marques-Rodriguez would add an insurance goal in the waning seconds to seal the victory for FCC. Credit Luis Alanis with the assist.
