A Tale of Two Games as Cougars and Hawks Split Doubleheader

Frederick, Md. – The Frederick Community College Cougars and Hagerstown Community College Hawks each picked up a win on Thursday afternoon in two very different ways. The Cougars dominated Game 1 behind a stellar pitching performance by Doug Pearl. In Game 2, the Hawks put a six spot on the board in the second inning to earn the convincing victory, 14-8.

• FCC got on the scoreboard early putting a four spot on the board in the first frame.
• FCC starting pitcher Doug Pearl (5 IP, 1 ER, 2 K, 0 BB) turned in a solid performance on the hill. Pearl improves to 4-1 on the season.

• The Hawks put up a six spot in the second inning and the Cougars weren't able to recover from the deficit. FCC pitchers walked seven batters and the Cougars committed four errors.
•  FCC starter RHP Logan Bruckschen went just 1.1 and suffers the loss. He falls to 2-1 on the year.
