Cougars End Season with Thrilling Win Over Chesapeake
Frederick Community College Cougars men's basketball closed out the 2024-25 season in dramatic fashion, rallying in the second half to defeat Chesapeake College Skipjacks 72-71 at home. Despite trailing by 11 points at halftime, the Cougars surged back with a dominant 42-point second half to take down a tough Skipjacks team that entered the game with a 23-5 record.
Kylan Johnson led the way with 19 points, knocking down two three-pointers and going 7-for-9 from the free throw line. Kentavious Dancy recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Mike Davis contributed 13 points and seven boards. Aiden Igwebe added nine points, including key free throws down the stretch. The Cougars played tenacious defense in the second half, forcing turnovers and limiting Chesapeake's scoring opportunities.
With the win, Frederick finishes the season at 12-13 overall and 5-9 in Region 20 DII play. Despite winning eight of their last eleven games, the Cougars did not qualify for the postseason.
