Jones Ignites Offensive Surge as Frederick Rolls Past Community Christian

Frederick Community College men's basketball delivered a dominant home performance Friday evening, defeating the Community Christian College Lions of Michigan 84–58 to move to 10-7 on the season. Coach Darryl Whiten notched his 50th career victory as head coach of the Frederick Community College Cougars men's basketball program in the 26-point win.

The Cougars took control early, building a 37–28 halftime lead, then pulled away in the second half with a balanced attack and relentless pace on both ends of the floor. Gabriel Jones put together one of the most efficient scoring performances of the season, pouring in a season-high 29 points while knocking down seven three-pointers to lead Frederick's offensive outburst. Thierry Patchou added 14 points and anchored the interior, consistently drawing contact and converting 8-for-10 at the free-throw line. Cameron Canty continued his steady presence on the glass with back-to-back games with 11 rebounds.

Frederick shot 52% from beyond the arc and outscored Community Christian 47–30 after halftime. Contributions throughout the lineup kept the energy high, as the Cougars stretched the lead and never allowed the visitors to regain momentum. The Cougars will look to carry that momentum into their next matchup on home court to face Harford Community College on Friday, January 30, with tipoff scheduled for 5 PM.
