Cougars Fall Late in Tight Battle Against Prince George’s

The Frederick Community College Cougars battled hard on Monday afternoon but came up just short in a 1-0 loss to the Prince George's Community College Owls. After a scoreless first half that saw both defenses hold strong, the visiting Owls broke through in the 77th minute for the game's lone goal.

The Cougars' back line, anchored by defender Makayla Lopez and goalkeeper Gabriella Lindblade, kept FCC within striking distance throughout the match. Lindblade made two key saves while facing four total shots, while the Cougars generated chances of their own through Kennedy Conley and Reese Hauptman, each recording a shot on goal.

Despite a strong effort from start to finish, Frederick could not find the equalizer and moved to 2-9 on the season. The Cougars will close out regular-season play on the road Tuesday, October 21, when they face Montgomery College under the lights at 7:00 PM.
