Bio

Jack Schenzel serves as the head coach of the Frederick Community College men’s basketball program, bringing nearly two decades of collegiate coaching experience and a proven track record of building successful, student-centered programs.

Prior to joining FCC, Schenzel led Penn State Mont Alto for 15 seasons, compiling a 267–132 (.669) overall record. Under his leadership, Mont Alto established itself as a perennial contender in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC). His teams captured three conference championships, made 10 USCAA National Tournament appearances, and consistently ranked among the top programs in the conference. Schenzel earned six PSUAC Coach of the Year honors during his tenure.

Known for his ability to develop talent and build winning cultures, Schenzel’s programs have produced 33 All-PSUAC selections, five Players of the Year, and 23 USCAA All-Americans. His teams have also demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, producing numerous USCAA Academic All-Americans.

Before his time at Mont Alto, Schenzel spent six seasons as an assistant coach with the women’s basketball program at Shippensburg University, where he focused on recruiting, scouting, and player development. He also gained coaching experience at the high school level in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

A graduate of Shippensburg University, Schenzel was a four-year member of the track and field program, earning All-ECAC and All-PSAC honors while contributing to three conference championship teams.

Schenzel is widely respected for his leadership, accountability, and emphasis on character development. His coaching philosophy centers on building a competitive, disciplined program while prioritizing academic achievement and personal growth.

A native of Franklin County, Pennsylvania, Schenzel resides in Falling Waters, West Virginia with his wife, Erin, and their two sons, Aidan and Micah.
