Dajah Gee Tabbed Maryland JUCO December Student-Athlete of the Month

BALTIMORE, Md. (January 17, 2018) – The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) today announced that it has selected Collin Turner (men's basketball) and Dajah Gee (women's basketball) as its Student Athletes of the Month for December 2017.  

Turner (Montgomery College | Poolesville H.S.) followed up his Maryland JUCO November Student-Athlete of the Month award by scoring 36.7 points per game on 56.7 percent shooting from the field in December. He hit 46.2 percent of his free throws and averaged 5.5 rebounds per game. Turner's performance helped the Raptors to a 5-1 record in December.

In addition to now being a two-time winner of this conference award, Turner has also twice this season been awarded National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Men's Basketball Player of the Week (Nov. 6-12 | Dec. 11-17) honors. He scored 43 points on December 6 in a 105-90 win over Baltimore City Community College and 41 points on December 16 in an 88-78 victory against Community College of Philadelphia.

Gee (Frederick Community College | Frederick H.S.) registered 20.2 points per game, while shooting 47.3 percent from the field. She made 39.6 percent of her three-point attempts and averaged 8.6 rebounds per game. Gee scored a career-high 45 points on December 12 in a 116-64 win at Lehigh Carbon Community College.

The Frederick, Md. native scored 20 points or more in four games and was in double digits in all 10 of the Cougars' contests. Gee was awarded NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors December 11-17 after averaging 24.7 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per game that week.
