FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Community College Cougars women's basketball team picked up their first conference win of the season as they defeated Allegany College of Maryland (1-17, 0-12 MD JUCO) 66-37 on Saturday afternoon at the Athletic Center. The trio of Tiana Jackson, Aubrey Austin, and Diarah Walker tallied 58 of the Cougars' 66 points with Austin leading the charge with 22 points.
The Cougars jumped out early in the contest and never looked back as they built a 22-9 lead after ten minutes of play. FCC would take a commanding 39-22 lead into the locker room at the break. The Cougars were clicking on all cylinders as they cruised to the victory.
Aubrey Austin turned in an exceptional performance. Austin scored a game-high 22 points and pulled down seven boards. Tiana Jackson has become a double-double machine. Jackson recorded a double-double netting 19 points and cleaned up on the glass with 13 rebounds. She also was in the giving mood and dished out a team-high five dimes. Diarah Walker was a force in the middle and turned in her best performance of the season. Walker went for 17 points and controlled the paint the entire game.
FCC (3-10, 1-8) will have a quick turnaround as they return to the hardwood on Monday (2/21/22) playing host to the Lakers from Garrett College. It will be a 3:00 PM tip at the Athletics Center.
