The Cougars started off competitive, trailing by just three points after the first quarter and matching the Hawks’ scoring output in the second to keep the game within reach at halftime. However, a tough fourth quarter where FCC managed only five points proved the difference as Hagerstown secured the win.

Frederick Community College Cougars women’s basketball battled until the final buzzer but came up just short in a 61-55 loss to Howard Community College Dragons. The Cougars started strong, taking a three-point lead after the first quarter, but struggled in the second and third quarters as Howard pulled ahead. Entering the final period down by 15, Frederick mounted a furious comeback, outscoring Howard 18-9, but ultimately ran out of time.

The Cougars came out strong in the first half, building a lead with a 12-point second quarter, and held off a late push from the Riverhawks to close out the game at home.
